Starting puppies young is the key to your hunting companions' success.
The Puppy Head Start Program is the very best way to introduce your new puppy to the life of the hunting retriever. We recommend starting your pup in this program between 2 and 5 months old.
Our headstart program is an introduction to birds, whistles, gunshots, and water. This program is specifically designed to maximize the first 6-months of your puppy’s life when they are at their most critical period of development and learning. It is also easier to develop positive behaviors versus trying to break bad behaviors.
We take a limited number of puppies for this program because it takes consistency and time to socialize puppies properly. Socialization is a significant step in building the foundation for hunting dogs' development.

Our Puppy Head Start Program is perfect for people who are not familiar with proper puppy socialization or people who just simply don't have the proper knowledge or training grounds to work with their dogs themselves.
It is important that your puppy be exposed to as many different scenarios as possible. From getting used to riding in the truck, or on the ATV, to observing more experienced, or advanced trained dogs in the field, or just simply playing in the back yard with the family. Our goal is to create a well-balanced family labrador retriever who loves to hunt with his / her best friend.
Puppies who complete this program have a much better advantage when entering our Gun Dog Programs.
GUN DOG TRAINING FOR BEGINNERS
One of the most important, in fact, the most important thing we strive to not do is to teach your puppy
"Too Much Too Soon".
Have you ever felt that you have information overload? Your furry friend feels those same emotions and it can stop them in their tracks just like it does for you. Information overload is not a good thing. This is why you should leave your dog's training to a professional trainer with years of experience.
Google videos and online dog training classes may cost less and save you time but it does not give you the bond and experience that you need to share with your dog. Emotions and heart is not generated by a click of the button. Loyalty and a bond between you and your dog is created by going through the motions with him or her. Hands-on, together. After your dog has completed training at Lady Oak Labradors we bring you in and teach you to work with your dog and create that relationship and bond.

Our new outdoor kennels are being installed!
Our newly remodeled facility will feature 15 spacious outdoor covered runs that are impeccably sanitized daily. All dogs stay in a climate-controlled environment, each pet is treated like a member of the family here at Lady Oak Labradors however we do believe in the fresh air and laying around in the shade with a clean bowl of fresh water, premium food, and lots of love.
All work and no play make for a dull life.
Playtime & Nature Walks are a must.
