Sara's love for animals began at a very young age. She is a Virginia native and raised and trained horses for over 20 years prior to working with dogs.

Sara's love for animals and experience makes for the perfect blend to work with your K9 family.

While Sara's focus is on Obedience training, she has first-class experience with puppy headstart for the home and gun dog training in the field, as you can see from the proudly worn ribbons shown on our Sires and Dames pages.

Sara works with all breeds and all sizes. She began breeding and training because she saw the need for well-bred and well-adjusted labradors.

I started breeding and training because I saw that there was a need for a well-bred and well-adjusted labrador. I look for a dog with a willingness to please, one with drive, the heart, and the ability to hunt. A good nose, good marking, and a good pedigree. These qualities are biddable and trainable. A dog who is biddable is docile, agreeable, and willing to do what you ask. They are also easy to live with. ~ Sara Kello, Lady Oak Labradors

One of the questions I am asked the most is "When is the best time to start training? I suggest our Puppy Head Start Program, and to start training your dog between 2 to 5 months old. I feel that this is the very best way to introduce your new friend best friend to the life of a hunting retriever. We give care and attention to your dog and what we do therefore , we take a limited number of puppies for this program.
